Tucson Padres 5-7 Las Vegas 51's
Pacific Coast League
20 June 2013
End of week 1 of the West Coast Tour and, if nothing else, this means the last game impacted by 'camera gate'. Really enjoyable night out at a blazing hot Kino Veterens Memorial Stadium.
The stadium was built in 1998 at a cost of $38m and has 8,000 seats, room for 3,000 people seating on the lawn section and room for a further 500 standing. It has been the spring training base for both the White Sox and D-backs, but all Cactus league games are now held in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area. It has been the home of the Tucson Padres since 2011.
Since visiting, the Padres have been sold and will move to El Paso in Texas. All we can hope is that someone else is found to call this nice little stadium home.
