Eendracht Termien 2-4 Racing Genk

Quinton
Quinton is a legend in our own piece of heaven in North Hants. Every club has one, a supporter who, no matter what, can find something to moan about. One Aldershot Town manager got so fed up with a post game tirade of abuse following a loss at Croydon, that he invited him into the changing room to give the players a dressing down. To his credit Quinton did go in, but I never found out what was said. To be honest his antics have never bothered me, I put it down to the different ways in which we show passion for our team. However, the one time it did get to me was when he started on the players at a PSF, somewhere is the fields of Hampshire, against some village team.
To me, PSF are simply practice games, an opportunity to try things out, look at trialists and get some match fitness (and for me to visit new grounds). I have never paid much attention to how the shots fare in pre-season as it rarely provides an indication as to the season ahead.
This is why I enjoy pre season in Belgium and Holland, as there is always a relaxed attmosphere around the games, and goals nearly always get greated with little more than polite appluase at best.
Until today that is, when the top flight Racing Genk made the short trip across town to play provincial team Eendracht Termien. 1,500 fans filed into Eendrachts wonderful stadium, most wearing the blue of the visitors. After 10 minutes a smart move put Racing ahead, and it looked like we were going to get one of those all too familiar Belgian pre-season goal fests.
Fast forward to minute 36 and things couldn't have been further from the truth as the home side finished off another quality move and were proudly sat 2-1 up. Queue some of the most agreesive crowd participation I have heard in a long time; and anger even the Great Quinton would be proud of. I understand a little Dutch, but these fans were so wound up that I understood none of it. All Miss NAC would say was that they weren't happy!
For the record, Racing did win, but it was all to clear to anyone there that Eendracht won the moral victory.
Great place and a decent looking side, I will be keeping an eye out for their results this year.
