Ajax Amateurs 5-2 SteDoCo
Hoofdklasse/Topklasse Play Off (Saturday)
Cromwijk (Home of Sportlust 46)
7 June 2014
I'm no expert in football strategy but I'm pretty sure that anything the Coach of SteDoCo had planned before the game did not include his defense going absent three times in the first quarter of an hour.
To their credit, they never gave up and had enough chances to get back into the game. But there are no mugs in play off finals and you can't give someone that sort of head start.
And so the big crowd (predominantly behind the team from Hoornaar) went home disappointed, whilst the amateurs from the capital now complete the perfect tri-factor for their club. Whether having Ajax in Ere Divisie, Jog Ajax in Eerste Divisie and Ajax Amateurs in Topklasse is a good thing for Dutch football, only time will tell. But credit where credit is due, this is a very exciting looking team.
