San Jose Giants 6-8 Stockton Ports
Municipal Stadium
28 June 2013
Att 2,530
The San Jose Giants are the Advanced A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants and play at the 4,200 seater Municipal Stadium. Opened in 1942 it is a lovely, if a little cramped stadium, that oozes character.
The game was memorable for a couple of things. Firstly we sat immediately behind a number of scouts, all armed with speed guns. It was fascinating to see the way in which they recorded all the information relating to the game (can I get a job doing that ? :-) )
Secondly, all the 8 Stockton runs were scored in the 6th inning. This coupled with a serious injury to one of the outfielder meant that the 1/2 inning lasted 49 minutes of the games total time of 3 hours and 19 mins.
