Stormvogels Rosmeer 1-1 Membruggen
Limburg Provincial 4D
Kerkstraat
14 December 2013
Although not unheard of, Saturday afternoon football, even in the provincial leagues, is not that common in Belgium. You normally need to drop to tier 7 or 8 to find anything, if at all. This particular Saturday was a real slow one on the football fixture front, with nothing standing out in either Holland or Germany. So I took in this top of the table clash from the 4 tier of the Limburg provincial league at a pleasant ground set in the fields and rolling hills of the region near to the Dutch border nearby Masstricht.
Table topping Rosmeer never really showed the attacking flair that I saw when witnessing their 9-1 demolition of Wiemesmeer 6 weeks ago, although that might have had something to do with a very heavy pitch. In fact, it was the second placed Membruggen that took the lead with a well taken goal in the first half. Rosmeer equalised in the second half when a player headed in unmarked from a corner, and, were it not for a penalty miss (the shot went well wide!) they would have taken all three point. However, a draw was right result.
