Groningen 1-1 NAC
Euroborg

All Done!
So that's it. All of Holland division 1 and 2 visited and, once we have revisited MVV next month, we will have the pictures to prove it.
To be honest, I didn't leave the best till last, but it was typical of my experiences, expecially at Ere Divisie stadiums.
Being an away supporter of a provincial team such as NAC is full of contradictions and this trip (the longest of the season at 270kms and the second longest in the league - behind Groningen v Roda) was no different.
- the car combi and ticket security versus the friendly police and stewards on arrival.
- the provision of a hut in the car park offering free coffee, tea and cakes, coupled with full body checks and a tunnel under a lake to get into the away end.
- the perspex fencing and floor to roof netting whilst being greated with smiles and waves (and ultimately applause at the end) from the neigbouring home fans.
The stadium itself is typical of many in the country, modern (built 2006 at a cost of just under 46m Euro), practical, neat and unspectacular.
The best thing about the game is that neither of these teams lost and both will be happy when the season finally ends at the weekend. This all led to a fairly dull game played to a dull atmosphere.
And so the final contradiction; NAC were disappointed to have let in a late equaliser to draw a game they really should have lost. Sums the evening up nicely.
