KSK Donk 1-3 K Kalmthout SK
Antwerp Provincial 4A
8th September 2013
On an unexpectedly sunny and warm afternoon we headed to Ekeren and the home of KSK Donk. We'd seen them play the week before at Achterbroek when they eventually succumbed to defeat after having two red cards. Their home is set by the railway lines with only one small covered section (as you can see below the training pitch actually has more cover).
In one corner you have the chalet style changing rooms, a house and a lovely little social club, with some table and chairs outside, that become our home for the afternoon.
On the pitch the visitors took the lead mid way through the first half before being pegged back by a pretty decent strike just before half time from, I think, the full back. Half time saw me pick up second prize in the raffle, a nice shiny Jupiler football! Early in the second half Kalmthout took the lead again. Donk were then really unlucky and struck the woodwork twice before the visitors scored a third right at the end. The result was tough on Donk, as is the fact they have nothing to show for their first two games. But if it is any consolation you now have two new fans, and we hope to get to see you again soon.
