We play when we want
At last I could no longer have the shame of being the only one from PDM that hadn't been to Crawley. I had gone so close earlier in the season but it was called off due to the cold snap. With the game being rearranged it was on the train to Redhill to meet up with the roaming reporter.
Upon arriving at the ground we were faced with the nuisance of having to go to a separate hut, get our tickets, walk back, and then in through a turnstile. By now a large que had been forming due to every person being searched before entering the turnstile. I joked about the fact they wouldn't even look in my camera case. Surprise, surprise the three of us (now joined by the RR's mate) were just let through without being searched. We went and grabbed a spot and took the opportunity to get some photos. The ground sums up the club really. Small, tinpot and half finished. To the left of the away end was an uncovered terrace. It looked like it was 6 steps high, maybe more. Either end were similar terraces that were covered and sweeped round into the corners. The main stand was to the right of us and was elevated from the pitch. It holds about 600 and I assume has some pretty good views.
Now, for the match report. I am going to be biased. I don't care. Crawley have to be the dirtiest team with the biggest muppet of a manager add to this the ref was as blind as a Sloth with no eyes. The mighty shots should have come away with a win. Simple as. Morris and Vincenti had twice put the shots ahead but Creepy equalised in the 88th minute. Their hoof ball and criminal tackles worked in the end. This is all after Mekki had taken two nasty tackles from behind and ended up on crutches. New favourite player Wilko Risser had taken a boot too the face and numerous two footed tackles and countless other events. Doughty also went off injured. Despite this Aldershot had 7 players booked and gave away a penalty.
On this showing we will be facing Evans again next season. Lets see if he is the same. Wait of course he will. Cheat.
