Tilburg Trappers 11-2 Amsterdam G's
Attendance 1,900
I'll be honest, after I heard the tragic new about Theo Bos, I didn't much feel like football. FC Dordrecht cancelled their game, and by pure coincidence Vitesse were at home (and Den Bosch were scheduled to play the now defunct AGOVV) the night Mr Vitesse passed away. On reflection I probably should have stayed in a watched the wonderful tribute the Arnhem club (supported in a small way by the people from Dordrecht and Den Dosch) put on for The Boss. To see a top class live game come to a halt whilst the whole ground (including players) applauded was incredible http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_MiqdXlGRc
But sometimes, it is just better to carry on. So we made the short trip to Tilburg to watch a very one sided game between 2nd place Trappers and the visitors from the capital who had won just 2 games all season.
Prior to the match, the Trappers retired number 18, in acknowledgement of the service their number 18, who was playing his last match, gave the club. This is a common ice hockey tradition. Perhaps the number 4 should be retired in Arnhem?
