Sk Sint-Niklaas - Stedelijk Sportcentrum Meesterstraat
Warm and sunny and yet cold
Formed in 1993, Sint-Niklaas (FCN Sint Niklaas up till 2010 when Red Star vacated the town to merge with Beveren) have risen quickly through the provincial and national leagues and now find themselves in the Belgian second division following a play off victory last year.
Unlike certain English clubs who were formed around that time and have risen to the professional leagues, stadium developments have kept pace with on field success.
It's not going to win any awards for stadium design, but it meets the club's needs and the requirements of the league so who are we to argue. However, the now 'expert' opinion of Miss NAC was that it was a 'cold' stadium. I know what she meant, but it was a lovely sunny September Sunday! Unusually, both teams warmed up on an adjacent training pitch.
Two words of caution, it's not in Sint Niklaas and it's not very big! Oh, and sorry webmaster Dan......no floodlights on the main pitch.
Featured game St Niklaas 1-0 FC Brussels (25-9-11). It wasn't very good
