Sérésien 2-2 St Truiden
Stade du Pairay
Att: 3,000
14/12/14
Having been at Walhain in the afternoon, we made the short drive south for this evening kick off at the Stade du Pairay. Much like it's neighbour Liege, Seraing is very much an industrial town. The majority of the drive in was spent looking at the various factories dotted about, reminding me somewhat of Sheffield. Being so early, we parked up outside the ground and headed straight for the snack shop/service station thing. Here we watched as it began filling with fans, and local constabulary.
Making our way round the ground we were one of the first on the terrace. The ground was one I liked a lot. Plenty of terracing and ramshackle, as the photo's show. The terrace, especially, was a favourite, running the full length of one side and going back a fair way. The away fans, unusually were split themselves. Those wanting to sit being made to go into the stand opposite, those standing at one end of the terrace. As expected for this top of the table clash, STVV more or less sold out.
They were rewarded with an enjoyable game, within which the visitors came from 2-0 done, and were unlucky not to go on and win, but for having a man sent off not long before the end of the game.
