Bonus games
For our 5th game in the same amount of days we went to what we considered a bonus game. This was because we fully expected Gent to be in their new ground by now. As soon as we saw this fixture we kept it in mind in order to visit the place before it went. We parked up near the ground and made our way to the tickets off where we debated as to which stand we wanted to go in, deciding along the side.
We made our way into the ground via the electronic turnstiles, it was at this point I realised how easily amused I am. Upon swiping your ticket you have 5 seconds to enter and it is counted down on the screen. The concourse in our stand was rather basic although the bar was decent. We had a really good view thanks to the steepness of the stand, we were in the top tier. Either end were temporary (looking) stands with one end for away supporters.Opposite was a similar sized two tiered stand to the one we were in.
Videoton had around 300 supporters in gent and they all made a good amount of noise, particularly helped by their teams smash and grab performance. Gent were all over them for the most part, hitting the crossbar and missing several sitters. Two of the goals were good counter attacking football, Gent then had two players sent off and Videoton scored their third. Many Gent fans would have missed this, however, because thay left after the second goal.
