RJS Heppignies-Lambusart-Fleurus
Stade du Trou a la Vigne
Another in the long line of Belgian clubs with a complicated history. Fortunately wikipedia came to my help in simplifying it. As the chart below shows, where once there was four teams in the region to the the north east of Charleroi, by the early 2000's they had merged into one. Then in May 2013, with the club in severe financial difficulties, it was renamed Charleroi Fleurus and moved to the wonderful Stade de la Neuville, which they share with the reformed Olympic Charleroi. Previous Tenants FC Charleroi (who were owned by the Chairman that bought Heppignies), have now returned to Stade du Fiestaux in Couillet albeit with no budget.
Today the small stadium on Rue du Trou a la Vigne lies empty. I am told that junior teams still play here, but I saw no evidence of this.
