Club Roeselare 0-0 Zwevegem Sport
Rodenbach Stadion
Letters
Not to be confused with the larger team in town, Club Roeselare were formed in 2000 and play at the stadium vacated by KFC Roeselare (previously FC, SV and SK Roeselare) when they merged with KSK Roeselare to form KSV Roeselare......who are the larger team in town. Presumably they took the name Club as all other letter options had been tried!
The Rodenbach Stadium gets its name from the brewery next door that towers over one corner. (This isn't the real ale guide and I'm a lager drinker and not an expert, but I have tried it and will stick to Jupiler thank you).
It's fair to say the ground has seen better days but it is more than adequate. It is far closer to the station than it's neighbour across town.
What of the game, well as bad as the one I saw when I went to KSV. But as ever I try and get something from every trip so tonight's 'don't think I have ever seen that before' award goes jointly to
1) The substitute goalie for Zwevegem (I swear not 5' 6" tall) and the tallest corner flags I have ever seen resulting in the later being taller than the former!
2) The number 3 (home) and 11 (away) who got send off 10 minutes apart for lumping opposition players off the ball. Not special in itself, but I can barely remember a foul in the game and the ref didn't talk to another player. So the card count ended yellow 0, red 2!
Friday night wouldn't be the same without a sheep update; well with Miss NAC firmly refusing to go Willem II, I will stick with her poetic reporting of the final score; dopey sheep can't even beat that lot (it was 1-1). Based on that I guess I was pushing my luck even asking if she wanted to go! Still another new ground in the book and the sheep still holding onto the last playoff place after a creditable away point meant a decent night, even with a poor game.
