Drie Linden Stadion
Situated in the South East of Brussels, Het Drie Lindenstadion (Stade des Trois Tilleuls - Three Limes Stadium) was built in 1948 and was the home to Racing Club de Bruxelles before they left for Ukkel in 1954.
It's official capacity today is 40k, making it the second largest in the country behind only the Koning Boudewijnstadion. However, given it's capacity has been previously listed as over 70k, and there have been no changes to the ground, it is fair to say it technically is the biggest, although the capacity will sadly never again be tested again.
Today the stadium is home to RRC Boitsfort of the provincial leagues and Boitsfort Rugby club and forms part of a larger complex including a pool, tennis courts and artificial pitches.
One day I will revisit for a game, but on this visit, on a damp, cold Monday in November, you could easily stand back and imagine what it must have been like in the early 50's when the ground was in its pomp.
